Who We Are

Archives and Bookshelves
Image 1
For this image, I found two images from Pexabay, and overlapped the layers with "Linear Light." For the background image which are vintage books on the bookshelf, I heavily saturated it. However, for the image of the woman leaning against the archives, I adjusted the image so that it was brighter and the contrast was stronger.

For this image, I used this images I found on Professor Sorapure's website and Pixabay. First I used the magic wand to isolate the hand, the phone, and the lighthouse image. I liked the idea of a visual environmental apocalypse that highlighted humanity's over-reliance on consumerism, so I decided to play with the colors of the lighthouse island. I applied the filter "Halftone Pattern," so that it could the lighthouse island could have an eerie affect. In addition to that, I applied the "Glowing Edges" filter to the hands underneath the lighthouse island and rotated them upside down. I found a emoji image, and started to play around with the kaleidoscope filter, and it looked a lot like a sun, so I put in behind the layer of the lighthouse island, and then using the cloning tool, I created a cloud-like figure to emphasize that idea of polluted environment. I also played with an image of crowded furniture, and adjusted their color hues, and layered them on top of each other to give a more cluttered look.
